Flying and responsibility
Flying produces emissions. We are not going to talk that away. What we can do is make the offset easy: through atmosfair, a non-profit organisation based in Berlin that funds climate protection projects from offset contributions.
Why atmosfair
atmosfair is non-profit and puts contributions into projects that cut greenhouse gases elsewhere, such as renewable energy and efficient cookstoves in countries of the global south. The projects follow recognised standards and are audited externally. An offset does not make a flight emission-free. It funds a saving somewhere else, and that is exactly how we treat it.
A line in your offer
On request we show the offset as a separate line in your travel offer. The amount depends on route and aircraft and is a pass-through item: it goes to atmosfair in full and carries no mark-up from Fly Unique. Just tell us when you enquire and the line will be in your offer.
Private jets and propeller aircraft
The atmosfair calculator is built for scheduled flights. Not all private jet and propeller types are covered yet, so a route-based calculation is not possible for them at the moment. Until that changes we suggest a flat contribution of €100 for these flights. That is a round suggestion, not a calculation. You can book it through us or donate it to atmosfair directly.
